Let’s Talk Series

Let's Talk: An Introduction to Social Justice Workshop Series from YWCA Olympia

Let’s Talk is designed to introduce you to many Social Justice Issues that exist in our world.

Sometimes we wanna help, but we don’t always know where to start.

“What is systemic racism, and how is it different from normal racism?” “My child started using Neo Pronouns and I don't know what that is.”

This program offers a series of workshops around topics like:

Racism, Pronouns, Norms and values, Classism, Ableism, Online research, equity vs. equality

Let’s Talk Workshops include self-guided online material that can be accessed at any time, as well as Zoom meetings once a month for an hour or two with YWCA facilitators and other like-minded people just wanting to talk and learn.

In Let’s Talk, we craft a safe space for people to ask questions, learn new things and build tools to navigate doing deeper work into these topics. Let’s Talk workshops have been made to be as accessible as possible with easy to understand language, closed captioning, tools, and resources that can be accessed at any time. You’ll also be part of a community of people who also are in a space of wanting to learn and be a better advocate for themselves and the people around them.

It’s ok to not understand something.

Sometimes we just need to sit down and talk about it.

So Let’s Talk!
